When Mystery, Inc. are guests of honor at the grand opening of the Coolsville Museum of Criminology, a masked villain shows up and creates havoc before stealing the costumes of the gang's most notorious villains: Black Knight Ghost, Pterodactyl Ghost and Tar Monster. Could it be that their nemesis, mad scientist Jonathan Jacobo has returned and is trying to recreate their deadliest enemies? Velma has a crush on the museum curator Patrick Wisely despite her fears of intimacy but why is he acting so suspicious? The Mystery Gang is hard pressed to succeed this time, since annoying television reporter Heather Jasper-Howe insists they are buffoons.
my sons are huge scooby fans, we must own every scooby-doo movie. we took them to the first movie and they loved it and laughed, when it came out on video we had to buy. when they heard that scooby-doo 2 was out they just had to see it. once again they laughed their heads off and after the movie my middle son asked if we could buy it. i personal thought it wasn't quitegoodthe first but i enjoyed it very much. shaggy and scooby make this movie, if they were the only two in the movie it would still be number one. but when you add the other characters to the movie it's a great combination. if you want to take your kids to any movie this year, make sure it's this one. one thing i finda plus is that there is no foul language, which is great for kids. so if your kids loved scooby-doo 1 they will adore scooby-doo 2. now when does it come out on video so my kids can watch it over and over again, until i'm sick to death of it.
I took my daughters to see it and I have to say it was nice family fun. Old fans of the series will recognize some of the monsters from the very first seasons. Justin the first episode, it goes against the rule that everything has a rational explanation. Supernatural forces are yet again called to animate the bad guys.<br/><br/>The story is not that bad, the animation and special effects are a bit too much for little ones to follow, but they all seemed to have a blast.<br/><br/>The acting is the bad point. It seems these actors are tired of the franchise already and seemed to be tied by a contract for at least one more episode. And you can tell they are bored. Plus they look awful and tired! Only Lillard makes an effort.
The good news is the script for Scooby-Doo 2 is marginally better and the eternally irritating Scrappy-Doo is nowhere to be seen.
